In the 1900s, bucket caps used to be worn a lot by Irish farmers as a means of protection from the rain as the lanolin from raw wool made the hat waterproof. However, sometime in the ’60s, it became a fashion accessory for females. In the past years, since 2019 this headgear has slowly resurfaced to our mainstream wear as celebrities like Timini Egbuson rocket it in 2019, people are beginning to fancy them again and they are made more stylishly for our age.
